VOLUME SPIKE: Capstone Turbine (CPST)
Posted in General by: adminCapstone Turbine Corporation (NASDAQ: CPST) is continuing its strong after-hours trading of last night with pre-market gains on large volume. The earnings were the reason the surface. But its huge backlog now appears to be understated if you consider its services and components backlog, which adds about $10 million according to Sanjay Shrestha of Lazard Capital Markets.
With 45 minutes to go before the open, Capstone has already traded over 300,000 shares. The stock closed yesterday at $3.41 and shares are currently at $3.63. Just keep in mind that shares were at $3.70 (2% higher) just about 15 minutes ago and this is on the heels of a 200% stock gain.
Average Daily Volume: 4.6 million shares
52-Week Trading Range: $0.91 to $4.04
Market Cap: $496 million based on yesterday’s close

Looks like so far it’s slightly up. What do you think is the max? $4.04?

on June 13th, 2008 at 3:16 PJunAs far as a target I have a much longer-term view here and think the value is far higher… maybe $5.00 (opinion only) but that may take several quarters depending on news flow
on June 13th, 2008 at 3:16 PJun. BUT, always a But…… The company is valued now for quite perfection after a 200% run and it is going to see some choppy trading if I had to guess from here out for a few weeks. Any new contract awards this next week or anything else should be treated as “the company knew it already at earnings”… That’s my call. -JON OGG
