Volume Spike Investor

Sociedad Quimica (NYSE: SQM) technically is called in English as Chemical & Mining Co. of Chile Inc. (NYSE: SQM).  Shares were touted again last night by Jim Cramer on CNBC’s MAD MONEY for its chemical operations and its exposure to lithium ion batteries and to agriculture.  With 1-minute to the open this has already traded 69,000 shares compared to an average daily volume of 992,000 shares.  Trades have gone off at $49.50 and higher this morning and the last pre-market OPEN INDICATION was $48 to $52 on the tape.  While this has a $12.4 Billion market cap, it rarely sees this much volume.

This will also mark a new high all-time high… the 52-week trading range is $13.21 to $49.21.
